Challenge #11 Plutôt la vie de Melanie

Factory Girl brengt een mix van cultuur, muziek, kunst en fashion. De film vertelt het levensverhaal van Edie Sedgwick, mijn favoriete stijlicoon uit de sixties, maar ook Andy Warhols “superstar” en Bob Dylans “woman”. Haar leven liep niet bepaald van een leien dakje en ze is dan ook niet meteen mijn grote voorbeeld, maar eerder een stevige bron van inspiratie. Zowel de film als Edie zelf zijn inspirerend, fascinerend en provocerend. De combinatie van haar dromerige en tegelijk hysterische persoonlijkheid geven haar een ongekend charisma, maar jammer genoeg wordt haar aparte karakter deze femme uiteindelijk fataal. Edie Sedgwick was excentriek en deed haar eigen ding. De verhaallijn is hier zeker niet het sterkste punt, maar de rode draad doorheen de film is stijl. En dat maakt Factory Girl volgens mij het perfecte thema voor deze challenge! En stiekem popel ik al meer dan 10 weken om eens een donkere versie van Edie neer te zetten…

Ik vond het heel moeilijk een bepaalde film of serie uit te kiezen. 

Na even op zoek te gaan kwam ik uit bij de serie Glee. Als grap dacht ik het zou nog leuk zijn me in een trainingspak te hullen aka sue sylvester, maar toen ik verder dacht aan de andere personages uit de serie, vond ik de rol van Emma best wel leuk.

Ze draagt altijd leuke en felle kleuren, draagt haar kleurtjes vaak ton-sur-ton, alles past goed bij elkaar, als ze prints draagt is het rustig, romantisch, veel bloemetjes en ook de typische strikjes die je vaak in haar outfits ziet terugkomen, vind ik zo leuk!!

Ik draag de stijl niet echt zelf, maar vond het wel leuk voor dit thema eens naar iets gelijkaardigs op zoek te gaan!

 know it's oh so typical but I have to admit I'm a die hard Sex and the City fan. I just love the fashion, the friendship between the girls, and the lovestory with Mr. Big. The blue dress really just oozes that Carrie vibe to me.

Challenge #11 Aux pays des merveilles

I went with "Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain", because i'ts my all time favourite movie.  It might not be the most logical choice if you're looking for fashion inspiration, Amélie is not exacly what you'd call a fashionista.  But the wonderful world she lives in, is very inspiring to me!
On the outfit: I built the outfit around the midi-skirt (because that's a length Amélie often wears).  The black top embellished with pearls was chosen because I think it represents Amélie's quirkiness.  I accesorized the outfit with red pumps and a green ring, referring to the red and green color palette that's used through out the entire movie, and bird earrings (which unfortunately we forgot to photograph), that remind me of the animal paintings in her bedroom who talk about Amélie when she's asleep...
